BIMIT turns a point cloud scan into a usable Building Information Model (BIM) as a fixed-price product, rather than a custom modeling engagement. It is built to confirm square footage and equipment counts quickly, with consistent turnaround and pricing instead of bespoke quotes.
This guide explains what BIMIT is, and just as importantly, what it is not.
What BIMIT is
- A product, not a custom service. You order it at a fixed, predictable price — no hourly or lump-sum estimates.
- Built for on-time delivery. BIMIT is designed for fast, on-schedule turnaround rather than the weeks or months a traditional modeling engagement can take.
- An all-in-one model. A single file can include architecture, furniture, and MEP — instead of isolated files spread across different consultants.
- Built to verify. Use it to confirm square footage and equipment counts.
- Three settings, LOD100 to LOD300. You choose how deep the model goes.
What BIMIT is not
- A service that requires a unique estimate for every job.
- Something delivered in weeks or months.
- Priced by the hour or as a lump sum.
- A set of isolated, consultant-by-consultant files.
- A model more precise than the scan it is built from.
- A construction-grade model at LOD 400 or 500.
Good to know
The setting you order decides the Level of Development, from LOD100 at BIMIT 100 to LOD300 at BIMIT 300, and a higher setting adds detail and scope. BIMIT is not a construction-grade deliverable.
