You can now connect your Matterport account directly to IPX and import a scan's point cloud straight into a BIMIT service request, without downloading anything to your machine first.
How to use it
Inside the BIMIT order flow, you'll see a new option to import from Matterport. Click Connect Matterport and follow the authorization prompt — this links your Matterport account to your IPX organization. Once connected, a space picker opens showing your Matterport spaces. Browse or search by name, select the scan you want, and click Import. IPX pulls the colorized point cloud from that scan and loads it into your order. From there, the rest of the submission process is unchanged.
If your Matterport session expires or you need to reconnect, you can do so inline without losing your place in the order flow.
What to know before you start
The import works entirely in the browser. Your tab needs to stay open and active while the transfer runs — navigating away or closing the tab will interrupt it, and there is no resume. For most scans this is a straightforward wait, but be aware of it on slower connections.
The current version supports colorized point clouds up to 5 GB. If the scan you select exceeds that limit, you'll see an inline message at the time of selection and can fall back to a manual upload instead. The space picker also displays this limit up front so you can check before you start. Very large scans and E57-format files are not supported in this initial release.
Your Matterport connection is per-organization — once one team member connects the account, the integration is available across your org's BIMIT orders.
